Bissap-juice

Healthy Bissap or Sorrel Juice

Nothing is as refreshing and healthy as this bissap juice also called sorrel juice, folere, zobo, sobolo, jus de bissap or hibiscus tea. Very popular drink in West Africa, Jamaica and Asia…This drink is full of vitamins C and minerals

Ingredients

6 cups of water
1 cup of dried hibiscus
1 cup of sugar or (any sweetener to taste)
8 large mint leaves
Lemon (optional)

Instructions

In a pot, add hibiscus, mint and water

Let it boil for about 30 minutes

Cut the heat and let the pot cool down a little

Pour the liquid through a sieve into another large pot to remove all hibiscus and mint leaves.You will obtain a tinted liquid.

Add sugar to taste and stir well until all sugar is dissolve

You can add some fresh lemon squeeze to the juice (Optional)

Chill the juice and serve cold
