Tzatziki sauce

Tzatziki sauce

Tzatziki also called tarator is a dip sauce popular in Middle East. It is made mainly with Greek yogurt base mixed with cucumbers, garlic, salt, optional olive oil, Lime juice or vinegar is added and some fresh herbs like dill, thyme, parsley or mint leaves.  You can serve this as a dip for appetizers, or a side dish. It goes great with sandwiches like gyros or a great sauce for souvlaki. When prepping the cucumber, some people grate the seedless cucumber or dice finely.

For this recipe all I used is:

Greek yogurt

Garlic

English cucumber

Dill

Salt

Lime juice

Tzatziki sauce

Ingredients

1 cup of thick Greek Yogurt

1/2 Whole english cucumber finely chopped (or any desseeded and peeled cucumber)

2 Cloves of garlic minced

1/4 teaspoon of salt to taste

1 tablespoon of lime juice

1teaspoon of chopped dill weed

Instructions

In a bowl, combine your finely diced cucumber with salt, lime juice, minced garlic.

Mix well.

Add the chopped dill, let it stand for 10 minutes then serve.
