Giant Snail Meat in Tomato Stew

These giant snail meat tomato stew is my all time favorite! So easy to make. I use savourous precooked and Fried Snail meat!

If you want a soft meat then you will need to cook the snail meat to your desire softness before starting the tomato stew. To try Savourous Giant snail meat, send me a direct message or email.

You can have this sauce with almost everything but fruits. It is good with rice, bread, fried potatoes, fried yam, sweet potatoes, couscous. I my native dialect, it called “abobo nugbagba”, so delicious and very popular in west coast of Africa. I am glad this stew made it to the list of my son’s favorite Togolese Foods!

Ingredients

1 pack of Savourous Precooked and fried Snail meat.

1 cup of ground fraiche tomatoes

1 cup of diced tomatoes

½ cup of cooking oil

½ cup of diced onion

½ Cup diced bell peppers

2tbsp of ground ginger

3tbsp of ground garlic

1tbsp of Paprika

1 laurel leaf

1tsp backing soda (to tone down the acidity of the tomatoes)

1tsp of black pepper

Salt

Bouillon seasoning (to taste)

Hot pepper chopped, ground, whole (per taste)

Instructions

No need to thaw Savourous’ Precooked snail when removed from freezer.
Rinse well under warm water and set aside.

You can boil the preecook snail meat to your desire softness.
On a stove:
– Boil the precook snail meat with seasoning of choice to your desire tenderness.
In an instant pot or slow cooker
– Coot at meat stew settings, some people might prefer it at a poultry cooking settings.
Removed the meat, discard the water and set aside.

On a medium heat, In a deep pot, add cooking oil, diced onions and diced tomatoes.

Add the puree tomatoes, the snail meat and the rest of ingredients but salt and black pepper.

Let it cook for about 10 mins stirring occasionally to avoid burning.

Add salt and black pepper to taste.

Let it cook for 2minutes and remove.

Serve with rice, bread, fried potatoes, plantain…
