Suya, West African Popular Grilled Meat

Suya grilled meat  or tchintchinga has multiple variants. You can have it on skewers or as barbecue grilled meat depending on the day and the cook’ style and energy.

Suya originated from Northern Nigeria, and spread all over west Africa and Sudan. It is said to be a unifying factor in west Africa as similar grilled meat recipes are common in many West African countries.

I cannot say that there  is a standard recipe for suya spice (Yahi). Ingredients and recipes vary per personal and regional preferences. Suya seasoning is readily available online or in all specialty store. Their taste may vary slightly but the flavor is always there. Check my etsy shop  or Amazon store for  Savourous Suya Spice . Some suya seasoning can be really spicy, so be mindful of the Suya you are buying! I always have Savourous mild suya spice on hand.
